Debuting in 1966, the Adidas Gazelle may be the most beloved shoe of all time.

Why indoor? The gum sole was designed to be grippy and non-marking on slick,  polished handball and squash courts. In the 1980s, this design (along with the Adidas Samba) was much favored.
